We Will close up The Country If The Strike Continues- NANS Warns ASUU

The Students Union Government (SUG) President of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) has warned that the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) will close up the country if the strike kicked off by the educational Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) continues.

The ATBU SUG president, Comrade Usman Abubakar made this statement while speaking at a news conference organized by a NorthEast zone of NANS in Bauchi on Friday.

He said that the strike would deny students who are near the age of 30 from experiencing NYSC due to the law that bars graduates who are over 30 years from participating within the scheme.

The centralized and ASUU are clearly not wondering how this strike will have an instantaneous impact on the lives of scholars. most of the people whose ages are near 30 are at the danger of not going for NYSC.

Even people who might scale through to NYSC will be denied job opportunities because, by the time they graduate, they're going to be older than the 26 or 27 years that the banks and other firms requires for the graduate employment scheme.

He also said that the annoying thing is that almost all of the people (FG and ASUU) fighting don't have their children in our schools, centralized and ASUU must find how to finish this strike that has lasted for seven months, else, we are going to close up this country.

Moreover, the Co-ordinator of NANS ZONE-E, Mr Alhassan Adam who had appealed to ASUU to kindly obey the judicial writ and also return to classes in order that the students can pursue their dreams with time.
