The Senate President of Nigeria, Ahmad Lawan, has said that the poor and strict implementation of the old and new Naira note swap has brought hardship to millions of Nigerians.
In a statement that was personally signed by him, Sen Lawan stated that the policy was very laudable and its poor and arrogant implementation had beclouded the merits therein.
The statement he wrote goes like this;
I Senator Lawan sincerely empathise with the fellow angry Nigerians on the very hardship that is been experienced across our land on the implementation of the new currency redesign policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Even though that we all have agreed on the merits of the policy which is being given and its implementation gap has unfortunately, brought enormous hardship upon citizens across the country.
Meanwhile, I wish to assure everyone that with the appropriate intervention that is done by the government and the collaboration of all stakeholders. We all will make sure that this hardship fades away as soon as possible and it will be restored normally to our daily lively hoods. Thanks.
