Great Reasons Why You Need To Show Appreciation In Your Marriage

Most expressions of appreciation are essential to a successful and peaceful relationships with people out there. It is also very important in marriage as well.

However, many couples have stopped noticing their partner’s good traits, much less in expressing there appreciation to them.

How can you then avoid that pitfall in your relationship or marriage?

(1). Offsets Stress:

Most of the relationship experts out there do say that expression of appreciation sometimes can offset marital stress. When most of the couples make the effort to notice and acknowledge to each other’s good qualities, their relationship typically improves in one way or the other. Even tho severe tension can be sometimes alleviated when your spouse feels to appreciate you.

(2). Shows Support:

Most of the men out there often underestimate their wife’s effort to support the household, whether through working, raising children, or even in homemaking. So when a husband tells his wife that they’ve done well at something around the house for example, with chores she will be happy and realize that he still loves her despite her flaws.

Moreover, She will also feel supported and happier. When a spouse feels really been taken for granted, it can sometimes be threaten to that very integrity of a marriage or that relationship. When you don’t really feel appreciated by your spouse in one way or the other, please it’s easy to be drawn or close to someone who always does that which makes you feel appreciated or happy.

(3). Be Observant:

Always try to notice positive traits that your spouse displays with time. Also, try to watch out for things that your spouse does to keep your household running smoothly with things that perhaps until now you have taken for granted. Make a list of traits that you always appreciate your spouse and the good things that they did for the benefit of your family.

Why Is Being Observant Necessary?

In this aspect, after you’ve been married for a few years or more,  you will now start to take your spouse for granted. You will now stop noticing the good things he or she does and now focus more on what he or she isn’t doing well.

You will now ask yourself, Do I really take my spouse’s hard work for granted or what? For example, if your husband fixes things around the house, do you now hold back from thanking him for what he did because you feel that it is his duty to take care of such chores? In the other way round, if you are a husband, do you feel that your wife’s efforts in taking care of the children do not merit commendation because she is simply doing what is expected of her or is her rightful duty?

Meanwhile, always make try and make it a goal to always notice and always be grateful for all the efforts both large and small that your spouse makes for the benefit of your family.  So always try to get into the habit of thanking your spouse at all time.

In other words, when a spouse expresses appreciation for the things you usually do to them, it's really making me to work harder in order to be a better husband or wife and also to increase the effort that I put into the marriage.
