The jersey number of Alexis Mac Allister has been confirmed after the Argentine midfielder swapped Brighton for Liverpool in a £45m deal ahead of the summer window this year.
The officials assigned the number 10 jersey, previously worn by Sadio Mane, to the world cup winner.
Meanwhile, Mac Allister’s move to Anfield comes after 3½ successful seasons at Brighton, following the January 2019 switch from Argentinos Juniors as he immediately returned on loan for the period of six months until there is a further temporary stint alongside Boca Juniors .
In his first interview, he explained the importance of the No. 10 in football.
Although, i had the possibility to take the No. 8 as well , which is a big number for this club but I didn't because of Gerrard.
Meanwhile, i have decided to chose No. 10 because I’ve barely used it in many occasions both in Argentina, at Brighton, and also at under-23s national team.
It’s actually a cool number I really like starting from day one and that’s why I chose it.
Nevertheless, the contract of Mac Allister’s continues to run until the summer of 2028 ends. His Liverpool debut could also come on the opening day of the Premier League season in August.
